Cholena Erickson, L.Ac., o.m.d.
I am passionate about helping others to achieve overall well-being in mind, body and spirit. I utilize the ancient healing system of Chinese Medicine to help patients experience a new vitality in their lives. Since 1986, I have helped countless patients with a variety of chronic health issues such as fatigue, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, menstrual disorders, infertility, chronic headaches, digestive problems, menopausal issues and allergies, etc.
In the early 70’s, I was introduced to the concept of the healing power of whole foods. This discovery of “food as medicine” sparked my interest in natural methods of healing such as Aruveydic, Naturopathic, and Chinese Medicine. A subsequent neck injury led me on a healing path that included acupuncture, and opened the door to Southwest Acupuncture College where I learned about the powerful tools of Chinese Medicine: acupuncture, Chinese herbology, exercise protocols and dietary programs. I received my Doctor of Oriental Medicine degree in l986 from Southwest Acupuncture College in Sante Fe, New Mexico. I then went on to an advanced study of Chinese Herbology with Dr. Ted Kaptchuk, Gynecology with Dr. Bob Flaws, and Pediatrics also with Dr. Bob Flaws.
In 2000, I began a two year study of European Biological Medicine with Dr. Thomas Rau, director of Paracelsus Clinic in Switzerland. With Dr. Rau, I expanded my studies of natural medicine to include Live Blood Cell Analysis, cleansing and detoxification protocols, identification and treatment of chronic bacterial and fungal infections in the body, and biological dentistry which identifies the connections between diseased teeth and chronic health problems. I received my certification in Biological Medicine in 2002, and utilize the concepts of this natural healing system in conjunction with the practice of Chinese Medicine.
I spend her free time with my friends and family, riding my horse, swimming, hiking with my dog and performing with my improvisational comedy troupe, FatMouth Improv.
